Add-in task for Enterprise Guide
|
|
|
David Shannon, Amadeus Software Limited
David.Shannon@amadeus.co.uk
Amadeus Software Limited,
formed in 1989, has been building a unique reputation in
the Business Intelligence arena, from the design and implementation
of enterprise data warehouses to the delivery of key business
information for more effective decision-making. We combine
rapid applications development with outstanding functionality
and performance.
The Demographics
Summary task for Enterprise Guide creates a tabular
report of demographic data. The purpose of distributing
this add-in (custom task) is to demonstrate the extensibility
features of Enterprise Guide. Add-ins can be created to
perform any function what-so-ever that the Windows operating
system supports.
A paper from Amadeus Software ("My Enterprise Guide",
available upon request) discusses how this add-in was built.
This Demographics Summary add-in has been tested with SAS
Enterprise Guide 3.0 or newer.
The following partial report is an example of what can be
achieved with this add-in, through a few simple mouse-clicks.

Discussion forums open another channel of interaction
with and among SAS customers
SAS employees love to talk to SAS customers. We like to
hear our customers talk to each other about using SAS. As
a company, we continually do a number of things to help
make those conversations happen. We send a large number
of R&D employees to SUGI, recently renamed SAS Global
Forum. In March, we announced the addition of discussion
forums to the SAS Customer
Support Center. This addition opens a new channel for
interaction, giving us and our customers and partners worldwide
a forum in which to share ideas and benefit from the collective
knowledge and experiences of one another.
We are excited about the opportunity to promote interactive
communication with and between our customers and partners.
These forums are a place for all generations of SAS users
to take advantage of online technology to quickly locate
information on a specific topic, connect with other knowledgeable
users on that topic and participate in focused conversations.
Currently discussion topics are SAS Enterprise Guide,
Integration with Microsoft Office, SAS Stored
Processes, ODS and Base Reporting, and SAS and Clinical
Trials. The creation of discussion forums to promote and
support the online community is just another step in maintaining
our customer relationships and listening to our customers
is the most important thing that we can do.
Discussion forums are a global tool that we provide for
our customers to communicate among themselves with SAS guidance
and support as required. The forums are not a substitute
for the Technical Support Division at SAS. If you have a
specific problem that requires one-on-one support, or the
exchange of files to diagnose an issue, Technical Support
continues to be your first channel of communication.
So let us hear you talking! Join
the discussion!

SAS Press webinar series
|
|
Alex Dmitrienko, BISUG founder
I do not normally use this forum to advertise my own papers
or presentations but in this case I feel that BISUG members
can benefit from a presentation I will be giving as part
of the SAS
Press webinar series on May 11 (12:30-1:15 p.m. EST).
The title of the presentation is Using SAS Software in
the Design of Clinical Trials and I am planning to talk
about the role of standard SAS tools (SAS macros) and Enterprise
Guide add-in (custom tasks) in clinical trial applications.
Specifically, I will focus on the add-in that facilitates
the design of group sequential clinical trials. The add-in
can be downloaded from the Business
Intelligence Exchange page [Task bixph002].
The SAS webinar series is a series of free web-based presentations
that include a 15-minute question and answer session. To
sign-up for the May 11 webinar, please visit the registration
page. Once again, the registration is free.
Michael Raithel and Jack Shostak have given interesting
presentations in this series on February 21 and March 21,
respectively, and the last webinar will be given by Kirk
Lafler on May 25.
