[Task bixph001]

Multiple-column tabular summary

This task creates general purpose multiple-column tabular summaries. It supports the following features:

  • summarizes both numeric and character variables,
  • provides a large number of descriptive statistics for numeric variables,
  • supports statistical comparisons across treatment groups,
  • supports full customization of variable labels, variable formats, column headings and report title.
This task can be used to produce summaries of demographic data or clinical outcome data across treatment arms.

Design of group sequential trials

This task facilitates the design of group sequential clinical trials. It supports the following features:

  • group sequential plans from the Wang-Tsiatis family that includes popular O'Brien-Fleming and Pocock plans,
  • group sequential plans for testing efficacy as well as simultaneous testing of efficacy and futility of an experimental drug,
  • computation of important operating characteristics of derived group sequential designs, including stopping probabilities and average sample size.

Multiple test (Bonferroni gatekeeping procedure)

This task implements the Bonferroni gatekeeping testing procedures for clinical trials with multiple endpoints or multiple comparisons.

For more information about gatekeeping testing procedures, see Dmitrienko, Molenberghs, Chuang-Stein, Offen. Analysis of Clinical Trials Using SAS: A Practical Guide. SAS Press, 2005 (Chapter 2).
